About Us

Mandy & Tom Green     Yukon Horsepacking Adventures was established in the spring of 2000. They have been taking people from all over the world out on pack trips and trail rides before this and ever since. The business was built from a lifelong dream shared by Tom and Mandy Green. They both came from a long line of horsemen (many of their relatives used horses for working with cattle, camping, hunting and pleasure riding). They have always owned horses themselves and have been priviledged enough to be able to earn a living riding horses.

Tom has many years of packing experience in the mountains with horses and Mandy (born and raised in the Yukon) has taken training in Natural Horsemanship among various other riding/camping endeavors. When they are not taking guests out into the mountains you will find Tom and Mandy spending any spare time they have with their horses in a high mountain camp themselves, soaking up the surroundings they know so well as home.

Together with their family, they are more than capable of offering a high quality of service and knowledge in the horse tourism industry. They also are able to provide safe, dependable, pleasurable horses to ride. All horses from Yukon Horsepacking Adventures are well trained and well mannered. All Guides are certified in Standard First Aid and CPR. Yukon Horsepacking Adventures is also a member of both the Wilderness Tourism Association of the Yukon and the Tourism Industry Association of the Yukon.

Our Home

Yukon Horsepacking Adventures' headquarters is nestled in the trees at the south end of Fox Lake, 43 kilometres north of Whitehorse, the capital city of the Yukon Territory. Fox Creek quietly flows through the middle of the ranch from the lake.

When you arrive at the ranch, you will travel over a wooden bridge to get to the ranch headquarters. Stop for a moment on the bridge and you can watch Arctic grayling swimming in the crystal-clear waters below in the creek. The ranch headquarters boasts a log cabin office, a tack shed and hitching rails, an arena and round pen (to get aquainted with your horse, take riding lessons or watch riding demonstrations).

The ranch also provides accommodations for those folks wishing to stay at the ranch - we definitely encourage ranch stays as part of your Northern experience! There are log cabins, a fully-insulated bunkhouse with a wood stove suitable for two people or there are large wall tents with cots and wood stoves available. We also have a log dining lodge capable of feeding small or large numbers of guests. And last but not least........We always have a huge pot of cowboy coffee made and ready to enjoy, for anyone stopping by!

*Transportation from Whitehorse to our headquarters is available upon request.
